SAFETY GUIDELINES
Expectant mums should take care not to overstretch during pregnancy. The abdominal area should be relaxed and therefore any positions which require lying on your front or involve back bends should be avoided.
Be aware that muscles and ligaments around joints become softer and loose throughout this time. Balancing poses, for example, can still be included but extra care must be taken.
Any pose which feels uncomfortable should be avoided - only go to your own limits. You should not feel any pain, nausea or discomfort during or following yoga. If you do feel any ill-effects, stop immediately and contact your GP and/or midwife.
